This summer’s historic floods in southeastern Wisconsin affected the community tremendously.

Many Milwaukee-area schools were impacted by the flooding – with only a few days to recover before students started the new school year.

“Entire classrooms were lost, and several buildings sustained damage,” says Kevin Raymer, MPS Facilities Planner, Design and Construction.

The Milwaukee community stepped up, offering to help those impacted by flooding in any way they could.

As a Milwaukee-based small business, Office Furniture Resources wanted to help the community, as well. OFR started by offering furniture appraisals to community members with flood-damaged furniture. Along with that, OFR donated furniture to a Milwaukee school.

“Thanks to the rapid response of our contractors and the swift support of OFR in sourcing essential furniture and supplies, our schools were able to open on time – a testament to the resilience of our community,” Raymer says.

The call to action went beyond the Milwaukee area. Chicago companies such as WTTW and ARCOA partnered with OFR to donate office supplies to Milwaukee-area schools to aid in flood relief.

Our community is still recovering from the flooding, however, there are numerous ways to help southeastern Wisconsin. You can help Milwaukee Public Schools rebuild stronger.
